As we enter the Christmas season, we have some lovely preparations in flow in our classrooms.
The beautiful Christmas cards have gone home to be posted and the Christmas annuals have been dispensed! While we will not have our usual live Christmas performances, the teachers and students in each room are preparing a video performance that can be shared at home with all the family via Seesaw. We are also getting very creative making Christmas crafts for local people who might be in need of a pick me up, particularly the elderly- especially as this year has been such a difficult one. Garda Jonathan will be doing the honors of delivering these pieces of art for us. If you know of anyone in particular that could do with a gift from the Scoil Bhride students, please let us know. We want to spread the spirit of Christmas to those who need it most. We are also hoping that Santa Claus will come to pay us a visit here in school. He has had to cancel visits in lots of places but we are hoping to bring some magic to Scoil Bhride. We are looking forward to meeting him very briefly outside and if we're lucky he might bring a treat! If anyone has a small gazebo that we could borrow for this event, we would really appreciate it. We would like this to be a surprise for all of our students... Ssssh!!! We are also going to have an online pantomime on in each classroom as we can't go on our usual trip to Cork. Children are permitted to bring a treat into school for the pantomime! We will also be having our Christmas jumper day on the 22nd of December, the last day of school ! There will be lots of fun and festive cheer to be had. We would ask that each child would contribute €5 towards the cost of running the above events (€2 per child will be donated to Simon for the Christmas Jumper Day.) We would also like to bid farewell to Mrs Cearma Levis on her retirement as a sna after 17 years and warmly welcome Michelle Murnane as our new member of staff. Nollaig Shona daoibh go léir. Wishing you all a peaceful and happy Christmas. Comments are closed.
