There was great excitement in our school as we celebrated World Book Day on Friday, 7th March. The children had a fantastic time dressing up as their favourite book characters and bringing their favourite books to school to share with their classmates.
All classes participated in ‘Leabhar Hour’, where they engaged in a variety of fun activities. The children enjoyed EPIC reading on iPads, creating bookmarks, and listening to wonderful stories. It was a fantastic day. The children had a very busy and exciting morning on Thursday as they began their four-week block of gymnastics lessons.
Today was a truly exciting day for the children as they kicked off Pancake Tuesday with fun-filled pancake races. They also got to enjoy delicious homemade pancakes, kindly made by Mrs Mary O'Callaghan. A big thank you to Mary for her fantastic cooking and for making the day so special for everyone!
We were delighted to welcome Garda Brigid Nash to our school today. She spoke to all classes about internet safety and how to stay safe online, and the important role of a Garda in our community. Thank you for sharing such important advice with our students!
There was a wonderful buzz of excitement today as our students enjoyed browsing the fantastic selection at the book fair. Many have put together their wish lists to take home this evening!
Parents are warmly invited to visit the book fair tomorrow from 2:00 PM onwards. Well done to the newly formed Student Council who initiated the bake sale on Friday last, and raised an amazing €715. A huge thanks to the Parents' Association for giving their time to organise and serve teas/coffees. Thank you to all the families who contributed such delicious baked goods. The children had a wonderful morning.
Students from 3rd to 6th class enjoyed an interesting and helpful talk from the Mental Health Foundation.
