The children had a great start to Pancake Tuesday with plenty of fun in the pancake races. They also enjoyed delicious homemade pancakes, kindly prepared by Mrs Mary O’Callaghan. A big thank you to Mary for helping make the day so enjoyable for everyone.      Wednesday 11th of February proved to be a very special day for 8 fifth and sixth class pupils as they received the Sacrament of Confirmation in St. Brigid’s Church, Ballydehob. The ceremony was performed by Bishop Noel O’Regan who was assisted by the priests of the parish. Thanks to Ms. Duggan who prepared the children for this occasion. Refreshments were served in the school hall afterwards, and we are grateful to the Parents Association for organising them. Well done to all the Confirmandi on this important day.    On behalf of everyone at Scoil Bhríde, I would like to sincerely thank you all for your support and contribution to last Saturday evenings bingo. The event was a huge success and raised an incredible €3,800, which will go directly towards funding new yard equipment for our students. This achievement would not have been possible without the outstanding organisational skills of Maria Cahalane and the wonderful Parents’ Association team. A huge thank you also to Barry O’Brien, our MC for the evening. Barry, thank you for giving up your time to be with us and for providing such fantastic entertainment throughout the evening. Thank you once again to all the families, businesses and local people from the community who sponsored raffle prizes and bingo prize money, we are so grateful for the support. Beannachtaí na Nollag agus athbhlian faoi mhaise dhaoibh go léir. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. School will reopen on January 5th.
